OutBack FX Grid Tie power inverters allow you to power your utility-served home or business using many combinations of renewable energy, with the added security of instant battery based back-up in the event of a utility outage. Each inverter incorporates a DC to AC power inverter, battery charger and AC transfer switch housed within an attractive die-cast aluminum chassis.

The highly efficient pure sine wave inverter utilizes virtually all energy generated from your DC power source. As an intelligent battery charger, your FX grid-tie inverter can be programmed to only recharge your back-up batteries from that source and not from the utility.  The built-in automatic AC transfer switch reacts all but instantly when it detects an interruption in service from your utility.  Multiple units can be stacked to accommodate changes in your power requirements.  Incorporated networked communications allow the inverter system to “talk” with other power electronics, providing unparalleled system integration and near infinite application flexibility.

FX grid-tie power inverters are available in vented models (GVFX) for protected, indoor installations, or in sealed models (GTFX) for installation in challenging environments that would destroy a vented inverter. The vented models are suitable for most applications. But if moisture, corrosion, dust, insects or animal damage are a concern, an OutBack sealed inverter is the better choice.

All FX power inverters are designed to operate as a coordinated system with the other OutBack products, like the OutBack FM60 or FM 80 MPPT charge controllers, and the OutBack MATE system controller and display.
