Sediment filters are used to remove visible and large inorganic particles from water. These particle include silt, loose scale, sand, and even clay, which may find their way into your water.
Sediment filters are rated by micron size, which refers to the size of particle that will be trapped by the filter. It is important to understand that sediment filters only trap sediment – they do not remove chemicals or heavy metals, or make the water taste or smell better.
