The OutBack FLEXware 500 is an integrated, modular set of enclosures for use in homes, light commercial or other back-up power systems with medium power requirements.  It offers more application versatility than ever before – from the simplest of back-up power systems to hybrid systems with multiple power sources such as solar PV, wind, micro hydro and back-up generators. There’s more space for wiring, and the all-aluminum, powder-coated construction is highly corrosion resistant for an installation that looks great longer.

The FLEXware 500 system architecture will support up to two OutBack FX Series Inverter/Chargers, up to two OutBack charge controllers and all the associated AC and DC components. Thanks to a very compact design, FLEXware 500 AC and DC enclosures mount with a FLEXware MP in either a horizontal or vertical orientation to allow installation in more space-limited locations for a fast and professional looking wall-mounted installation. The FLEXware 500 accommodates all of the essential protective devices in two enclosures.

AC Breaker Enclosure

The FW500-AC fits at the AC side of one or two FX Series Inverter/Chargers. Includes ground bus bar and DIN mounting bracket for up to sixteen DIN type breakers (not included) and a GFCI AC outlet (not included). Requires optional FW-ACAs for connection of each OutBack FX inverter/charger.

DC Breaker Enclosure

Includes ground bus bar, 500 Amp DC shunt assembly with negative TBB breaker mounting screws – holds up to eight 1 to 80 Amp, three 100 or 125 amp and two 175 or 250 amp panel mount breakers (not included). Requires optional DCAs for connection of each OutBack FX inverter/charger.

Mounting Plate

The FLEXware FW-MP is a one piece, powder coated aluminum mounting plate for FW500 systems. The FW-MP makes installation quick and easy by including all of the necessary stainless steel hardware to mount both the AC and DC enclosures, inverter-chargers and breakers. One FW-MP is required for a complete FLEXware 500 system.
