The OutBack MATE is a complete  management tool for all the OutBack conversion products in your system. Through the use of a single MATE you can remotely manage and monitor multiple OutBack inverters, multiple MX60, FM60 or FM80 charge controllers, and any future OutBack power conversion and control products. A maximum of ten OutBack products can be connected to a single MATE via CAT5 – Ethernet type cabling with 8 wire RJ45 modular connectors with the addition of an OutBack HUB4 or HUB10 communications manager.

The Mate provides a complete display of normal system operations, plus it gives you the ability to control and adjust any set points or modes of operation. It will coordinate the operation of your entire PV system for maximum performance, and will prevent multiple products from conflicting with each other.

Key features of the OutBack MATE:

• Four-line, 80-character backlit display provides multiple measurements in easy to understand abbreviations.

• Programmed set points are stored in permanent memory, eliminating the need to reprogram after a shutdown or battery replacement.

• A real-time clock allows inverter programming based on time of use electric rates or to limit a generator’s run time to a specific time period of the day or week.

• Two-wire generator start/stop control can be based on battery voltage and/or time.

• An opto-isolated RS232 port and DB9 jack will connect to the serial port of a PC computer. Windows based datalogging software will be available separately from third party developers.

• The MATE2 can be located up to 1000 feet from the power system allowing monitoring of system performance from a distant location.

• The Hub will also support a second MATE with monitoring capabilities only. MATES can be up to 300-feet from the Hub.
