SunDanzer DDR165 Battery-Free DC Refrigerator

The SunDanzer Direct Drive DDR165 is the first battery-free solar refrigerator designed for the off-grid user. These high efficiency refrigerators will save you money on your upfront system costs, because they are made for direct connection to your solar panel. This eliminates the need for expensive deep-cycle batteries, charge controllers, and battery maintenance.

In stand-alone applications, the direct-drive solution provides reliable refrigeration at greatly reduced cost for non-perishable goods. For more temperature sensitive storage, SunDanzer offers an optional, low-cost thermal storage package. These consist of 1.5″ thick ice packs custom made to conform to the sidewalls of the chest refrigerator, allowing cool temperatures to be maintained for up to four days without power.

How it Works

High quality construction provides excellent reliability and long life. Super-insulated chest-style cabinets feature over 4 inches of polyurethane insulation with powdered-coated galvanized steel exterior and aluminum interior. A zero maintenance, brushless, thermostatically controlled DC compressor with a built in soft start function operates on 12 VDC and connects directly to your solar PV system. A patented low-frost system reduces frost and moisture build-up for low maintenance of the unit. Rugged, custom-made high-density polyethylene ice packs store up to 80 lbs. of thermal storage for up to four days of holdover time.
